The rustic building and its surroundings were absolutely mind-blowing, transporting us to another era. The gourmet restaurant, conveniently located just around the corner, offered delectable local food and the local cru craft beer was a super addition. Exploring the historic ruins nearby made us feel like we were in the middle of nowhere, secluded in the peaceful Belgian countryside. Crossing the narrow bridge over the river dam was a jaw-dropping experience, providing spectacular views and a feeling of tranquility. The host was incredibly polite and helpful, ensuring our stay was perfect. The tasteful interior of the room exceeded our expectations, and the super king size bed was a delightful surprise. The room was clean, spacious, and appeared to be recently refurbished. Despite the heavy rain, the view of the old abbey was still beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh croissants and a wonderful variety of local cheeses. The staff was exceptionally kind and organized, adding to the overall enjoyable environment. The location right next to the abbey ruins was exceptional, and the availability of free parking was convenient. The traditional house rooms were nicely renovated with interesting design elements, such as the toilet, washing sink, and shower in the bedroom. The rooms, although small, were comfortable and provided a lovely view of the abbey. On top of everything, the breakfast was exceptional and the staff truly hospitable. our stay was absolutely fantastic, and we highly recommend this hidden gem.
